The Rescue

The original hangs in Captain Robert of Abney Park's home, and is painted in acrylic paints on mohagany.

This is a tranquil yet active maritime scene set in an arctic environment and done in the style and feel of a Belle Epoch maritime painting.

The dirigible is the HMS Ophelia, sky pirate flagship of Abney Park, the popular steampunk band.

The submarine is reminiscent of the Nautilus from Jule's Verne's "20,000 Leagues under the Sea", and the tentacles from some unseen creature add a sense of urgency and drama to an otherwise calm scene, without making it too busy and active.

Limited edition giclees on canvas, and metallic prints are available through my own site: mykeamend.com, through the Miskatonic Archive, and at EttaDiem on Etsy
