The only thing that is for sure, other than death and taxes, is change. Sometimes we embrace it, sometimes we dread it, most times we see it coming, sometimes we don't. Yesterday a chapter in the lives of this Janosik family has come to an end and a new chapter of unknowns is beginning. Our precious daughter (and the best hiking partner I could ever ask for) left Sunday to find her future in the Denver area. The company she has worked for, for nearly 8 years, made her an offer she couldn't refuse. And as my wonderful AW friend Lauren Munger has told us, the trails there are endless. Our daughter is expanding her horizons and in the grand scheme of things, our horizons, too. (It was an adjustment when she move 45 miles away, now she's gonna be in a different time zone.) So the past 3 short weeks have been full of hectic moving plans and packing, excitement and sorrow, good-byes to friends and family, very little sleep and no time for that last hike. She also had a horrible cold to deal with. As I write this, she is driving down to Colorado in her big truck with a terrific young man who may be a part of her future. Only God knows what's in store for all of us. Please don't feel sad for us here....we will miss her terribly, but are trying hard to deal with it. Instead be glad for the exciting future that will unfold for her. (We still have our son and his growing family close, a true blessing!) The next chapter in this story has yet to be written.... I'm sure it will be wonderful!!!!
