The Moon Whispered
The moon whispered
one dark winters night,
among the crackling leaves
and bright starlight.
So sad its words
drifting in winters breeze,
that the willow wept
along with all other trees.
All fell frozen and silent and still,
as the thought traveled in kind
invading their heart,
lodging in mind.
Repeating the lament of its lunar tune,
all understood the singleness
of this preeminent moon.
It sighed three words only,
For the moon whispered
"I am Lonely..."
