Man, I thought I liked "The Smile". This is the best!
Artist Reply: "The Smile" Clown was going to be this clown, but I didn't like where I was going with it at the time and so I started again. Years later I looked at the rough I did and figured he wasn't so bad and so I brushed him off and finished him. He repaid me by haunting my nightares. Clowns, tut, who'd have 'em?
What is the story? Pleasant Nightmares is what I call it! fantastic work! I not ssccccarrrredd though! My Dad was meaner than this for real! he like the electric train too. that goin around in a circle will do it everytime! CB
Dear Mr/Mrs Anonymous guest. Using half the clowns face was deliberate and is my attempt at conveying the hidden secrets of the surface character. If you look closer you can see him sweating and also his make-up is cracking which is also conveying the same message. It is a very personal piece and already I am starting to feel a little naked.
Wow, you even got the individual beads of sweat on his brow, it's amazing how much a little detail like that can add to the emotion of the pic. Very freaky indeed, amazing that out of all your eery pictures, the clown is the one that really gives me the Heebie Jeebies (yes, I just said "Heebie Jeebies," your clowns have scared my into un-eloquence)
Fantastic work! Your technique & composition is wonderful, & I love the emotions this painting invokes in the viewer!
