Stream Detail

While trekking around the Patagonia area of Chile and Argentina, I was usually looking to the mountains for photography. However, I spent a few hours each day moving from one camp to another and along the way I passed many intimate scenes of natural beauty. Sometimes I would have to stop, unpack my camera gear, and take a half hour or so to capture as many of my impressions as I could. This shot is from Torres del Paine in Chile. Minolta 801si alpha, 80mm lens, Fujichrome Provia 100. No filter, no colour manipulation. Copyright Peter Skov.

I don't remember seeing this before but it makes me want to reach out and touch everything! Delightful!

Artist Reply: Yes, I love the detail and the contrast between the soft moss and the hard rock.

Truly spectacular with the reflecting waters...

Artist Reply: There's not much water in the photo but it does add a nice touch with shape, feeling and colour. Thanks for the comment.

It is very interesting to see the stream bend around the detail of the rocks and moss.

No center? but what a nice walk it was I bet?

Artist Reply: No center... Do you mean visitor center? Well, there's a hotel at one end of the trek and a big one at the other end but it's four to five days in between. The walk sure was nice. You'll see more from this trek later, but for now you can look at the mountains gallery for the two photos of Las Torres to see what else I saw during those few days.
