Orchids and Limes

This is about the 3rd pastel I ever did. I did it tonight, Dec. 29, 2004. This painting depicts orchids in a glass vase and 2 limes amid some drapery. There are more things I would work on in this painting but I think I will leave it the way it is and keep it as a study, because in this painting I began to really get the evocative feeling of the flowers, started to capture the elusive nature of them. It's a beginning, a painting about hope for the future.
