This colored pencil painting has a story behind it. Last summer we were visiting Ventura, California and went down town for dinner. As we were walking to the restaurant, I noticed a musician playing his guitar near the front window of a bar. I stopped long enough to quickly take a photograph of him through the window and then basically forgot about it. I had no idea at the time when or if I would ever base a painting on it. I have recently been working on a series of "rain" paintings, but I could not visualize my next piece. Then for some reason I remembered the photograph of that guitar player, and I envisioned my next "rain" painting and its title..."Playing in the Rain". Here is the actual colored pencil painting. It is done on museum quality Grafix drafting film using Farber-Castell Polychromos and Marshall pencils. The size of the artwork is 11 X 14 inches.
