Poisonous Beauties VI: Fly Agaric

The sixth installment in my Poisonous Beauties series - a series of works featuring portraits of faery creatures and various poisonous plants (and fungus)! #6 in this series features the Fly Agaric mushroom - also known by its Latin name, Amanita Muscaria - one of the most beautiful mushrooms! I always think of faeries when I see these bright red, spotted mushrooms - a very popular decorative element in households and fairytale illustrations everywhere. Who would expect that such a cheerful mushroom could be bad for you? Known for its hallucinogenic, toxic, and in some cultures - magical - properties. My own original acrylic painting. My original acrylic painting. Prints available at http://www.zazzle.com/strangeling* and http://www.strangeling.com
