Artist comment: "West of the Astoria-Megler Bridge, I spied this great tug pulling a barge. I chose to depict, with art on canvas, just the boat (I will paint a large horizontal scene with everything on it later). I like the grey sky and the soft hills diminishing into the distance, setting off the dark sleek lines of the boat. Two pilings with aged moss on them balance the composition.”
