AS I BECOME MY SHADOW

A very simple image, but I felt great emotion creating it. I spent a lot of time thinking about it: experimenting with its design and colors and their relationships. I always do that. It's a major feature in most of my art, BUT the actual experimentation was far greater, in its difficult and exhausting process of creation. Actually, I realize that what I am trying to say is simply that all the usual processes in making a painting were just much intensified. And I thing that is because I felt it more intensely than often, and that almost controlling mood grew stronger as I proceeded with the whole process, which of course changed here and there as we both (the process/experience) And I also want to mention that along with my paintings, titles frequently point, or suggest, one particular vantage area (but not the ONLY, of course) that should be taken into consideration -- frequently a sort of voice from the painting saying: "Don't omit considering . . . !" Cool work, Bruce!

Artist Reply: Hi, again, Emily! Thank you for the refrigerator comment! I was thinking about the little videos with your superior birthday card. You know, one could type in the link to one of the pretty ones to leave in place of writing a comment or thank you! Special ones could be made appropriate to various artists and specific works of art. Hmm. I always get great ideas from you! No kidding! Peace, etc., Bruce
