This has a fresh, Ensor-like appeal. There is a focal point, the young girl, around which swirl all sorts of real and imaged creatures. If you are not familiar with Ensor, he was a Belgian artist who defied categorization. You should look at his "The Entry of Christ into Brussels" for a good laugh.
Artist Reply: Thanks a lot David, I will look up ensor and see what he has done.
I know you'll scoff at this Frank, but I am serious when I say I think this painting is a masterpiece. I'm reminded of some great artists through time, and could imagine myself seeing this in a museum. There is just something about it - wish I could put my finger on it, but it's a real winner.
Artist Reply: Jessica, you have just become my best friend, you have to be because only friends can fib to each other. But thanks for the effort you delightful colleen
