An urban tree reaches out it's branches. Just waking up and sprouting new leaves now the warmer weather is here, and over it's roots and up the bark covered trunk grows ivy. Wild flowers are also blooming around the base of the tree. 'Periwinkle Blue' is based on an actual urban tree in St Helens, Merseyside, UK. It's a tree that I walk past regularly and there are always little birds and creatures around it. The pretty blue faces of the periwinkle flowers seem to almost glow with energy as they push their way up through the other greenery in spring.
