A friend of mine tried to teach me about 35mm photography when I was in college (100 years ago). Taking the pictures was fun and I enjoyed being creative with the camera. The fun ended there, because all I could do was take the rolls to be developed, find one or two shots I liked, throw the rest away and I was done. Working in a darkroom was not for me and sending the negatives off to a processing lab for enlargement was too expensive. I continued to take pictures of family and an occasional trip, but nothing creative.

I bought my first digital camea (512K) about 10 to 12 years ago and a whole new world of photography opened up for me. I am on my fifth digital camera now (Canon iDS MarkII) and am deeply into Photoshop and Lightroom. Taking pictures is still fun, but postprocessing is my passion. I have learned a lot through books and the web. NAPP has been my greatest teacher.

My wife and I are fortunate to be able to do a lot of traveling and photo opportunities are every where. When I can get away with it, I love candid portraits. I also love the creativity of HDR. The best thing about digital is how it lets me create my own perseption of the images I've taken. I am learning and creating every day.
