Don has been painting and drawing ever since childhood when he was signed up for art classes at the local library on Saturday mornings. It has been a lifelong passion to create artwork for himself, friends and family. Although never a full time occupation, his artwork has sustained him when other streams of income were not available. The mainstay has been the Sibley Home Portraits that are commissioned by real estate agents as house warming gifts for both the buyer and the seller. The idea caught on in 1982 and he continues to produce very detailed pen and ink and watercolour paintings of homes, cottages and businesses. The artwork is scanned and a copy is sent to the customer for their records. Then it is framed with the highest quality wooden frames, glass, acid free mats and materials that will last a lifetime.
