Welcome to Randheer Vasavada's portfolio of selected works. Randheer is an artist and a graphic designer with commercial experience in print design and media. He also pursues photography with a keen interest and has often involved photographic techniques in fine art projects. Randheer currently lives and works in Bombay, India.
Randheer received his Masters Degree in Graphic Arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S.University of Baroda, India. After his studies, he got scholarships to work as a resident studio artist and taught Foundational Design at the National Design Institute (NID) in Ahmedabad and National Institute of Fashion Technology, (NIFT) New Delhi. In 2002, he decided to explore other avenues and since then, has worked on experimental and commercial art and design projects. Primarily a painter and designer, his works essentially deal with surface mediums. The emphasis is on visual research, that reflects upon the experiences and environment we live in. The methodology responds to various situational reflections and transforms them into visual elementary forms, eventually building up an experience - a kind of a visual process. This process is sometimes purely ambiguous, unpredictable and open for different interpretations. The motive is to build up an improvisational process through a medium or an interface, simple enough to provide an access to a viewer. The purpose is not only 'to look at' but 'to see through'. Over the period of time, he has been able to develop a manner of representation, formalistic in approach and sometimes purely an abstraction in terms of visual content and surface design. He believes that visual art/design in general could be seen as a field of activity in which different actions and interventions are possible. These actions, whatever character they may represent and in whichever form they are carried out, should be seen as a consequential process.
