Mrinal Mitra has received many prestigious Indian and International Awards, and honors for his outstanding illustrations. Some of his recognitions include: The Noma Concours Award, UNESCO, Japan (twice), Illustrators Award, Indian Government, and Children’s Choice Award, AWIC, India, and honors from German Television “Transtel”, and UNICEF, New York. Many of his talented art works have been exhibited in various countries such as: India, Japan, Italy, Czech Republic, and New Zealand.

Mitra has designed and illustrated numerous trade and educational children’s books for both Indian as well as multinational Book Publishers around the globe. Some of his publishers are: Oxford and Cambridge University Press, UK, World Book Inc., and Simon and Schuster, USA, Wendy Pye Publishing Ltd., New Zealand, and McGraw Hill Education, Australia. Mitra has authored, designed and illustrated, a series of ten drawing books for a New Delhi based multinational Indian Publisher. Most recently, Mitra has conceived, authored, and illustrated a series of ten books in 'World Culture Coloring Series', and listed in Amazon website.

Mitra now works in both traditional and digital art, and is currently residing in Quebec, Canada.
