My painting ‘Wagtails Welcome’ of a Dalmatian pup meeting a Willy Wagtail bird and both wagging their tails in welcome, is in remembrance of my childhood pet 'Estralita’ who was my pick of the litter from my parents' female Dalmatian and Western Australia’s Champion Dalmatian, around 1955. ‘Star' as I called her and her mother Judy, were my best friends until, sadly, a few years later they both died from eating a poisoned rabbit in the forest that surrounded our property.

I saw this dog at my local animal shelter and he was quite old and for some reason reminded me of Yoda from Star Trek. So I decided to make a painting of him dressed as Yoda with the Death Star in the background. You may need to be a Star Wars fan to really appreciate it.
