Seven Sabals- Acrylic 11"x14" Too Black?

I would like your opinion-any comments are welcome. This is one of the few times that I have used real black in a painting after being advised to do so. I have noticed though by observation that my eyes do indeed see intense shadows and black-but I have overdone it here? There are some pure white highlights that I was planning on adding to the foliage but I did not like the effect-perhaps next time.

I think the black is good, Contrast & composition is what catches my eye the most maybe if the tall trees were less bushy/busy to allow more light through and have a few shades different than the lower trees or even a touch of highlights that are a different color would make the whole piece pop. an easy way to achieve depth is to for instance the two lower trees you have one smaller and placed a bit higher in your painting this would look like it is at the edge of the grass area. A thing to remember white is the first thing you see in a painting and black is the last. play with the colors in between from light to dark. I don't want to discourage you from painting you are showing us you do have talent looking forward to seeing what you paint next :)
