The (category/ingredient) "unique" balance and body poster in this add dramatically the mood and expression. The overall middle shade of medium colour Draws your eye to blackest and whitest point which creates the weight of black being very dramatic. Black being high up, being a heavy weight create drama and being messy hair add to the intense expression he has. Wonderful contrast of light to Dark, texture and detail. You have the three areas of interest I discuss in my book. The hair, eyes and shirt This is successful. There is nothing to suggest. Bravo!

Love the way you did that messy, sweaty hair. I would watch your value changes going from dark to light, especially on the upper lip and the darkest shadows in the ear. Also, the edge of the profile from the top of the forehead down to the neck has the same value and shade all the way down. It almost looks like an outline. that's a big no no with portraits. You might want to vary that some. Overall though, it is beautiful.
