Painting my first mural - input on materials, particularly for details?

Hello. I am going to be starting on my first mural soon. The materials I am wondering most about are paint pens/markers. I will be doing a lot of fine detail and want to use some type of paint pen or marker. I have used cheap ones before that do not work well or last and when used on a vertical surface, the ink does not flow. I was doing some research and considering using Liquitex paint markers or Sharpie Brush markers. I was wondering if anyone had used these products for murals before and if they work well on a vertical surface? Any other suggestions for paint pens/markers would be appreciated. Thanks!
