SCARY DREAMS by Elizabeth Lindberg

A poem for Halloween..........

The day was long,

and sleep is nigh,

my dreams await,

let go, the sigh,

troubled of late,

like ocean waves,

that crash the shore,

on stormy days,

sometimes the scary visits me,

awake I can deflect,

while helpless in my scary dreams,

I'm tharn as I can get!!

white fangs that snarl,

a raspy voice,

I want to run!!

I have no choice!!

strapped to a chair,

blindfold in place,

or running hard,

going no place!!

the growls are added sound effects,

I feel my heart pounding!!

it was the lick that woke me up,

from dog, who also dreams!!
