my first posting be nice

well be honest pls

i started this one about 2 years ago.. i need a new hobby, to add realism i used dirt from under my thumb to add colour (dirt) to the carved thumb.. i think i can see a hand forming there also, and a horse a cat and a bug who knows, its all fun :)

It's off to a great start. I think the future development of this piece has real promise. It's a little early to see the big picture, but definately send me a pic of additional progress. What type of wood is this and what are your primary tools for carving?
