Mini Art vs. BIG Art

Friends, Artisans, and Countrymen, I've found that most galleries and artists like 'BIG' art, but to my surprize I've done little art experiments to see what sells. Ironically, a big piece will sell here and there, but mini art (5"x 5", 6" x 6", 8.5" x 11") has been selling a lot! So, with that being said, here is a mini art piece called "Fly Set" - 5" x 5" on canvas. It is texturized and stylized. Let me know what you think! Cheers!

I like it a lot . Your colors are eye catching . You are right about the small pieces . Specially in this economy . Good work .

I like it, and your thinking about small pieces. Of course the price shouldn't be TOO small (as many are on Ebay) or it diminutizes the artwork. There's a lot of detail and color variation on this little piece. The background is intriguing.

A lot of clients collect small pieces and arrange them together on a large wall. Very effective and a great way to start an art collection. It's also fun to create a larger image with small canvases. Here's my painting 'Tranquil' that I painted on 4 small canvases to make up one larger painting

I love mini art, a friend close by has a house full of framed tiny oils, acrylics, water colors from all over the world. You can spend a week in her house (with a magnifying glass) and never see it all.
