Rag Dolls art or not

Can a handmade rag doll with a painted face be considered art? With hand made outfits.

technically speaking the act of creating a doll would be considered craft rather than fine art. However motivation can be a game changer. Duane Hanson, for example, created lifelike painted castings of ordinary people, dressed in ordinary clothes, for the purpose of examining how society views itself. A doll made to represent an idea might be considered more than a doll made for the sake of decoration.

Put them into a photo, and it will be photography. Paint them, and they will be paintings. Sell them and you are a proffesional. Love them when you put effort into them, and they are your art.
