Keywords

On the edit image page--keywords--it no longer prompts me with previous input. So I have to type all the individual keywords out with each image rather than copying a set. Problem started a few weeks ago.

Steve -

When we visit your edit images pages, we do see the keywords you have typed in previously, so perhaps we are not understanding what you are asking/requesting. Can you please better explain what you are seeing.

HINT: Do not use "quotes" in any of your keywords, which may cause them to hide from our forms. Thanks.

The problem occurs when I try to input keywords. When it's working properly, as soon as I start typing in keywords, directly below appear several previously used keyword sets.

For example, let's say I type in SNOW. Immediately there may appear a line like SNOW BLIZZARD NEW YORK CHRISTMAS. If I select this set, these keywords now appear on the keyword input line. When I save this, I have saved myself the trouble of typing all the relevant keywords again from scratch. This comes in handy when images are in a series and all or most of the keywords are the same.

But now, when I input keywords, no prior keyword sets appear, so I cannot take advantage of this shortcut anymore.

PS It's a similar feature as what Google has on their search engine--anticipating what you're keying-in and presenting likely phrases that you can select and cut to the chase. Surely you know what I'm talking about.

Now lately there's another similar problem. I cannot reply to comments made on my images. When I click on the word--reply--it just takes me to home page. On the other hand there is no problem for me in replying to posts on my blog.

Steve - The "reply" window loads in a pop-up window, and some browsers have pop-ups disabled, which will take you to the homepage instead.

To fix this issue, you should just need to allow all pop-ups from ArtWanted.com in your browser settings and you will be able to reply to any comments on your artwork without a problem.

Thanks--that solves problem #2 about reply pop-up. Problem#1 remains--not getting keyword prompts.

Pleae note: when I said "shortcut" in 7/7 posting I didn't mean the technical term--I simply meant that it's quicker.

Steve - Can you let us know which specific image you are having with keywords, so we can look into this. We are not seeing any problem with them currently.

Sorry about the difficulty in conveying my point. What happens when I'm editing the info about anyimage in my portfolio. I get to the box for entering keywords--directly below the box for entering the image title--I start typing in my first keyword.

In the past, I would immediately be presented with several lines of suggested keywords based on my previous use. If I selected any given line by clicking on it, that line tentatively became the keywords for that image. I could edit it as I saw fit. It spared me the hassle of having to type in a bunch of the same keywords over and over again for images that were all cut from the same cloth.

Now I no longer seem to have this feature. I can still enter keywords ok, but the time-saving aspect of keyword prompts is missing. (PS It's similar to a feature of Google and other search engines)

Steve - Ok, I think we know what you are saying now. The "auto-suggest" feature in the keywords field is something that we have never programmed into our site.

However, it is a build in feature of some web browsers, which would explain why you have seen it in the past on our website. If you are no longer seeing the auto-suggest it's possible that you are using a different browser/version or that your past entries have been removed from your browser settings/cache.
