Inspiration?

I have phases where i love art and i work very hard at it and in the end i have a great piece of art. But I have no inspiration right now and i really want to create a new piece. I love to paint nature and i really want to get better. Any inspirational scenes that i could paint or just anything to get my creative juices flowing?

Hi i hardly ever come to this section of this site but its raining outside so i thought why not..

I dont know how it is for you but for me If i have to work hard at it (art) then its work and not art.

If i have no creativity i usually have a few drinks, maybe a joint and sleep for about 3 days, if i dont have the urge anything i do will turn out to be crap or something i forced to create, i dont think you can do anything to get your juices flowing, its probably your state of mind, maybe worried about family life , finances, world war 3, did i return that library book? a new noisy neighbour,...etc

is it your enviroment somehow changed??? if your a perfectionist it only takes the smallest thing/sound/smell to be out of place to upset the whole balance....

If like me you have woken up as a bar of soap then its probably too late for you

Hope this helps :)

I am new to the site and have been surfing the various areas, ran across this and thought “Inspiration” the desire to be creative, to be artistic and then well here goes: 1. start a sketch book and draw at least 30 minutes a day in it draw and sketch every ting. 2. go on a hike, a walk and sketch or photograph what you see. 3. Go the train station, the park and sketch people. 4. Go to the museum the gardens and just enjoy it, the colors the smells. The shadows the lighting. Have the sketch book and camera with you and just enjoy. Like read an art book about a famous artist. Talk to fellow artist. Have fun and perfect your craft. Learn about colors. Cheers !!!! Lucien

There are so many good artists here to be inspired by look and see what others are doing ,outside in the nature ,or sometimes I pick a titlel first ,it can be a line from a poem that inspires me and I go from there.

Where does inspiration come from? For photographers, it can derive from many sources: art, the photographic work of others, visual media from which we are constantly bombarded, our environment both natural and man-made, books, magazines, the internet, music, etc. The list is endless and I'm sure you could compile your own extensive one. We are not only influenced by our own thoughts and those of others, but everything in our environment. Photographic opportunities are wherever we go, so being inspired by something is really a matter of becoming attuned to and exploring such possibilities. What at first glance may appear to be a boring subject and not worthy of photographing, could easily prove to be otherwise. In a world where instant gratification and throw away products have become the norm, it can be worthwhile sometimes to pause to 'smell the roses'. I take many photographs of varied subjects but am not always feeling inspired at the time and an idea may only emerge later as to what to do with a particular shot.

Sometimes taking a workshop or joining an artists group or even going to gallery openings and talking to other artists is a way to get motivated again. The enthusiasm of other artists can be catching! Joining a plein air group would be ideal to get you painting out in nature. Good luck!

well my inspiration is like a jigsaw puzzle, never comes out exactly what I intended in the end, so to say simply just start with a stroke and the inspiration will lead on until the puzzle is solved. If discovering frustration on that one start a new and get to it later, it will get back to you as to what you might add on. To me writing a story in a book is never a easy task often changing characters, storyline and sometimes you just want to can the whole thing, but putting it down then trying again later might help or gather resource to help it out might work. Guess I'm saying it's similar to writer's block lol.

I live on Hilton Head Island and paint in oil an watercolor scenes around this area. However, I get tired of painting beach and marsh scenes, so I started using Pinterest to search of scenes to paint. I have found a lot. All I do is plug in a key word in the search window for such things as barns, farm scenes, small bridges, etc.. I have found a lot of photographs of great things to paint. One is attached.
