Howdy,

Being an artist is tough if you ain't got money.:) So I have learned to make or do. I went to garage sales and bought triped type stands. Like the ones for telescopes; merchandise racks, etc. I have two of them. Put cross pieces of wood onto it using two or three bolt through only the added wood cross pieces. That way you can use thumb nuts and be able to adjust height as you might need to.

I also have made tons of two by four or lighter smaller wood "trap" easels. The two "risers" are held up at an angle by the base "cross", and the center "riser" is loose, and letting it fall down to the canvase "traps" the canvase and holds it. I have made one so large that I can only use it outdoors, and I added small tacks sticking through to help hold the canvase in the wind. Just my thoughts. Later, dan tx
