Change in Blocking Feature

Due to the recent issues with member blocking/banning, we have changed how this function works on our message boards.

1) The first change is that blocked members will only be blocked from replying to a post that was started by the member that is blocking them. We will no longer block members from talking within a thread right after each other.

2) The second change is that we are now limiting the number of people you can block to five (5). If you are trying to block more than 5 people on our site, then there are bigger issues that need to be dealt with that the blocking feature will not fix.

If you already have more than 5 people blocked, we will give you until Dec. 1st to decide which 5 you want to keep on your list. After this date, we will remove all blocked members except for 5.

3) The third change is that you can only add one person to your blocked list each day.

The block/ban feature was created because some members had an issue of Internet stockers and needed to eliminate communication with this person. Since then, it's been used to play games and to block people that you simply don't like. This is not the purpose of the ban feature.

This is also a good time to remind everyone to keep personal attacks off the message boards. Any negative comment toward a specific member will be considered a 'personal attack'. Those found slamming other members can be temporarily or permanently banned from the message boards. If you have been attacked on the message boards, please report it to us and do not reply to the attack.

We hope that these changes will reduce the recent number of issues we have had with the blocking feature.
