I still can't find where we can go back and view the pics of the day, LOL!

Unless I come back to this message board I can't access the gallery to view what people have chosen.

Is this one of my "light-haired detours off the information superhighway"?

Is it staring me in the face somewhere?

We need an easier access to the gallery.. I posted one but now i can not find it. Can't you make a simple click on link? If it is to difficult to be found.....It won't be used. And that would be very sad. Cut down the Steps. It should be visible on the home page. How do you see what has been chosen for the day?

The new gallery is found in the BROWSE section. Just click on BROWSE, then click on the PIC OF THE DAY GALLERY and there you are. Just two clicks away from any page you are on.

AW, I was under the impression that your staff and moderators were going to select from the "Pics of the Day"those images you thought were the best. Guess I was wrong. What you're doing is what others were doing. Is this corrrect? If it is, the "I do you and you do me continues" when it comes to the Top 10. I find nothing new, except that you're doing it instead of some artists.

Observation:

I think you can only get your pic of the day into that gallery if you choose to put it in your favorites, correct?

I noticed that if you remove it from favorites it is also removed from pic of the day.

Bear with me.... this is going somewhere, LOL!

I thought 'favorites' was like 'all time favorite images' from the site.

What if we want to add to the pic of the day but don't want it in our all time favorites? It seems that we have to leave it there in order for it to stay up in pic of the day.

What we're going to wind up with is 365 pics in our favorites. Is it supposed to work that way?

Joan, I'm keeping the pics in my favorite for three days only, then I delete them. You certainly don't want 365 pics in your favorite, neither do I.

I Choose pictures That go into my favorites.......Once there it asks do i want it in my picks of the day.......i clicking on it, but it does not go in Sher's gallery............i don't know where they are going.....i tried it three times last evening.and three times more this morning.... They are floating somewhere in Cyberspace.

Well, it's a good idea..but I miss the personal touch; I want to know who choose who! And it would be nice if one could add a comment to WHY you think the artist/artwork need extra highlight. As it is now it just looks like another random image thing.

There's something very impersonal about it.

It was nice when it was up in the discussion group. I would really like to see it put up there in it's own forum.

Yes, it takes time and effort to copy the pic and URL but if you really like something you make the effort.

The problem is that if right click is disabled, which most people are in favor of, Sher's Board will cease to exist.

I like the fact that it's anonymous and that there is no opportunity for comments to accompany the selection. It may help cut down the instances of reciprical selection as in the top ten. If the artwork selected is actually good, it shouldn't require an explaination as to why it was chosen by someone.

With the top ten, I stopped looking at a long time ago becasue it got to the point where it was the same group of people with similar work This feature is allowing me to bring some recognition to a couple of artists whose work is different and very powerful without them knowing that I picked them and feeling obligated to check out my work.

Now, of course, the pic of the day doesn't seem to be working. It's telling me that the artist I selected is added but the image doesn't show.

This is good feedback, please keep it coming. We are sure there will be upcoming changes to this new feature, based off the feedback we get from those that use it.
