Now Accepting Artwork for the 2007 Calendars

We wanted to let all our members know that we are now accepting artwork submissions for our 2007 Calendars! The 2005 & 2006 calendars sold out and we are sure that the 2007 calendars are going to be even better. Don't miss this chance to get your artwork in one of our calendars for next year.

CALENDAR DESCRIPTION

Each calendar features 365 'tear-off' pages, for each day of the year. Each day features a different ArtWanted.com artist and displays their name, artwork title/description and website address for more information on that artist. The artwork featured in the calendars is a large mixed sample of traditional art, digital art and photography of our members. The final size is 4.5" wide and 4" tall. There is a fold out cardboard easel in the back that tilts the calendar perfectly to sit on any table or desk.

2007 IMPROVEMENTS

We have listened to your suggestions and we have made the 2007 calendar the best one yet. We have improved the back/easel, the glue/binding and will include a brief description of the artwork on each calendar page.

CALENDAR THEMES

The biggest improvement for 2007 is that instead of one calendar, we are making SIX different calendars! This will allow us to feature more of our members artwork then ever before. The six themes are:

  • ArtWanted.com Sampler - Misc. Artwork
  • ArtWanted.com Self Portraits
  • Animals / Wildlife
  • Landscape / Outdoor
  • Photography
  • Sci-Fi / Fantasy

    SUBMITTING ARTWORK

We encourage all ArtWanted.com members to submit artwork for our upcoming calendars. There is no cost/fee to submit, so there is nothing to lose. Just go to the following page and submit your artwork for consideration. Artists are allowed to submit one image from Feb. 1st to April 30th. On May 1st, we will allow our members to submit multiple images to fill up the blank spots in the calendars. The deadline for submission is Aug. 31st, 2006 or once all the calendars are filled-up. We will be selecting which artists to feature in September.

    PRE-ORDERING THE CALENDAR

For those artists that would like to pre-order any of the calendars, they will get a special bonus to pick the specific date they want for their calendar page. They will also be guaranteed a spot in the calendar, as long as the image meets our guidelines. The cost of the 2007 calendar is $14.95 each. We also offer discounts for additional calendars you purchase for friends & family. To pre-order a copy, click here.

    SUMMARY

Even though we just started 2006, we are already exicted for 2007. The calendars are a great way to gain more exposure to your artwork and just enjoy the creative talent from other members on the site. Make sure you are a part of this exciting project.

I pre-ordered a 2007 Photography calendar after submitting my artwork for it but did not get the opportunity (or maybe I missed it!) to "lockin" my date. I would like September 5th please!

    ArtWanted.com Staff 01 Feb 2006

It can take up to 24 hours to have your payment verified. Once this happens, you will get an e-mail on how to pick your date. :-)

Yes, I would be able to participate with one of the images of my area of member. But I have something it say: With all of the artists with the which to ARTWANTED work IN OUR TIMES, put an image of Van Gogh even IS GOING TO COME BACK IN THE TIME. Better even they will value the geniuses of the past, therefore the geniuses of the future can be in the ArtWanted and will not be recognized as would must! It is my critic and they excuse for my translating.

I know fan art is a touchy subject...and I guess isn't allowed, but thought I'd ask anyways. Is fan art allowed? :D

    ArtWanted.com Staff 02 Feb 2006

Fan art is accepted on our site, but not in any of our printed materials such as the calendar. We want to avoid any copyright problems that could arise.

    Reggie Simpson 02 Feb 2006

Will there be another Artwanted.com book with the artist from the site.I wasn't a member the first time so I'd love to submit some pieces for that.

    ArtWanted.com Staff 02 Feb 2006

We don't have any current plans for another book, but we don't know what the future will bring. There is always the possibility.

    Jessica Hobdell 04 Feb 2006

Maybe a customer can order a book of all the art work of one artist. Kinda like ording all of one artists prints put together in a book. you know what I'm saying? just a small idea.

    ArtWanted.com Staff 04 Feb 2006

Great suggestion, we will look into this to see what could be done.

    Laura Smith 04 Feb 2006

I tried to submit an image to your calendar but the only way to submit one is to pre-order which I do not want to do at this time. It says in your information that there is no cost to submit a picture. How am I supposed to do that? The only button on the form is the "ORDER" button. There is no "SUBMIT" button.

    I thought it was free?

    ArtWanted.com Staff 04 Feb 2006

There is no cost to submit artwork and a purchase is not required. Just click on the link to submit artwork. Here is the direct link to that page:

I filled out my contact information. Browsed my computer and selected the image. Then I clicked on Upload Image. I guess I got a little confused. I hope it worked!

    I'd love January 27th cuz that's my birthday! =}

    ArtWanted.com Staff 06 Feb 2006

    Laura -

We did not get your image, so we ask that you upload it again. Be sure to check the message after the upload screen to see if it was accepted or not.

As for the date, you can pick your own date if you purchase a calendar. If not, then we will pick the date randomly depending on the number of submissions we get.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Cher Peterson 06 Feb 2006

I'm not so sure about your policy of allowing an artist's image to be guaranteed to be placed in a calender, if they pre-purchase the calendar. It just doesn't seem fair.

    Laura Smith 06 Feb 2006

I re-uploaded and the message said it was successful.. as it also did the first time. Let me know if you didn't get it. Thanks!!

    Amazing photo Cher!!! =}

    ArtWanted.com Staff 06 Feb 2006

Yep, we did get your artwork, thanks.

As for the pre-purchase, we have done our publications several ways in the past and this way seems to work the best. It just seems that those that are willing to purchase a calendar, should be entitled to be in it. We don't see a point to include 365 artists in a calendar, if many of them could care less if they made it and are not willing to spend $15 to see how the calendar turned out. The way we have it now, those that are willing to support ArtWanted.com and our projects are rewarded by being featured in them. We know that we have very little complaints with this method, compared to having a committee select who gets in the publication like our book was. We had a tone of complaints when we selected who got featured from all those that didn't get picked. Who knows if we will change this method of selection in the future, but for right now it just seems to work the best.

    Uploaded my painting.. also,

    Richard Henne 11 Feb 2006

With several calendars, are we limited to one submission or one per calendar?

    Diana Hume 11 Feb 2006

Oh, I like Jessica's idea of a book of individual artist's work!

    Sean Lynch 11 Feb 2006

Pencil me in for the entire month of July....
