Theft thread: I have something else to say!

"Richard has requested that we delete his account and all images from ArtWanted.com - Nothing more to say, thread closed." - ArtWanted.com Staff

Well I do have something else to say in conclusion: I wanted to thank all of those that supported and even helped bring to light Richard's underhanded tactics on my Bird of Paradise image (as noted a few threads down). While I do appreciate the fact he is done and gone, I want to share a few opinions on the handling of the matter.

Management went soft on him. When a member steals photos (not one but several) then offers to sell them, then even denies he stole them, and finally actually accuses the true artist of doing what he himself has done, he should have been banned by the site moderators, plain and simple.

What also really bothers me is the fact that they closed the thread altogether! I would have liked to have a concluding comment thanking those for their support as well as a few other thoughts. So, I am doing that here.

I would also suggest next time making it a point to at least acknowledge the e-mails/claims sent in to you, and explaining your position. Even if your position is to sort through the matters. I have still yet to receive one single reply from ARTWANTED.COM. THAT is not very professional in my opinion.

We can all learn something from this, I hope. Even now, he wants to buy the rights to my image so he can sell it. Nuts! It won't happen.

By the way, my wife paints and really likes the site. We just might *sign her up*! Thanks again for those of you taking the time to help! Aloha.

Best,

Vince

Vince -

We felt we were very open on our postion and we felt there was no need to reply to the e-mails, because we informed you and everyone else of our actions on the message boards. We would have said the same things in an e-mail. Thanks for your suggestions for future issues like this.
