The images that are posted on our site are not high enough quality for printing even an 4x6 print. If you will want to participate in this program, you will need to upload higher-res versions of your artwork.
We have yet to determine if there will be a fee to have a 'print' account. We know this is common on other websites, but we are still determining the costs to launch this program and the ongoing costs of hosting and bandwidth for these high-res images. The setup fee is yet to be determined.
As far as upload speed goes, this will just depend on your Internet connection, and won't really have much to do with our site. If you have a fast connection, you will be able to upload pictures fast, if not, then it will be slow. We may also have a way for you to send us a CD of your high-res images.
As far as how checks will be cut. We will offer a PayPal option for those that want instant cash, but we will also have the option for us to mail out a check on a regular basis. You will also be able to use your funds to purchase other prints or services from our site.
Please continue to post your questions and thoughts, thanks.
Or will AW decide on pricing per print flat out?
=)
It is hard to find a "real good" printing service, and if this were to be an option, it would make AW a contender in the ring, if you will.
I think adding a watermark that appears to the images that the artists allow prints for is really a must have, otherwise, there is nothing to prevent theft of an image for the artists. So security there would be a real issue for myself.
I've already had images swiped, not from here at AW, but other places, so I think that should also be addressed, while implimenting the other if the majority rules in favor.
Also, make this a feature awailable to subscribers only (paying members).

Devil's advocate, that's me. =)
There have been some excellent questions asked and excellent ideas posted here.
I am definitely one of those who would join in. I will be watching this thread to see what progress is made.
