just read the new Happenings!! Sounds great to me. I was about to 'remove' the 1-10 anyway, so glad it's been done for me. I'm not too savy on some points but will re read and go from there. Sure SOUNDS great to me!

I'm glad people are working hard to improve the site, that will help to get more people to want to invest their money into the site.

I like the rating system, and I like the idea of getting rid on the highest and lowest comment.

I take all comments and rating with a grain of salt, it's just someones opinon. I also understand if people get irrotated if someone comes and kills there avarage just for spite.

it's hard to believe that people get to upset about it. The comments are more of a vanity thing,for me anyway, at the end of the day they don't make me any money or make me a better artist, so if everyone gives me nines and tens and one person gives me a six, well i just shrug it off that they just don't like my art.

I see art that gets tens, that i don't agree with, so i just pass on it and say it's just not my thing. i don't comment on alot of Photography because i don't thinik I'm a good judge of it, so i don't really feel comforable that I can comment with a rating.

To some up, changes are good, but we all need to not take the top ten reports so serious and just have fun. Of couse their no room here for vicious spiteful people, but I also want people to feel free to give me honest feed back, even if they don't like my stuff.

At the end of the day none of us can compeate with Sher R anyway : )

I like all the changes. I'm glad to see the evolution of AW. It was a process of growth and experimentation that was inevitable. There are two areas I'd still like to see addressed. Nudes. In a free and decent artist's environment like AW there must be some way to include nude (non-porno) works of art. I understand porn is in the eye of the beholder, but maybe you can select a wider team of censors (umpires)to evaluate & discard the more "outragous" works from the more "classical" ones. I know it would be a challenge and of course there will be those who disagree, but if the ump calls it an out....it's an out.

The other point is to have a seperate catagory for Cher and one or two others. Her talent and popularity is in a catagory all of its own. Call it "Artists of Distinction".

i' am sorry i like the old method . i like voting but the new method does not take you to that person to vote only comment . i like th e numbers and the easier way to get to an artist that is add to your art watch. not going through a bunch of junk to get there. how about adding artist name to search on the voting (new) site.

In my opinion, paintings in the top ten should not be based on the number of comments but rather on the quality of the painting. AW should have a panel to review all paintings posted and for the panel to select which paintings should be in the top ten. The way it is now, some beautiful paintings or photographs don't make the top ten because of not enough comments. My 2-cents.
