Does photographic manipulation or multiple layering of images via programs like Photoshop make one a digital artist, or does it take adding and creating new pixels to receive that distinction?

Hi, all:I had this site bookmarked for some time but I am just getting around to joining and posting. I have not added any pics to my portfolio yet but you can go to my site to see what I do.
I am loving most of the art so far and look forward to communicating with the rest of my fellow artists.
