Artist Bio

Although I have had some formal art training, I consider myself a mostly self-taught artist. My art is constantly evolving by experimentation, practice, and workshops with highly respected artists in the local area.

My work has been exhibited at several local galleries, art spaces and juried fine art shows.

I paint exclusively with oils, using bright colors and lots of texture. My favorite way to start a painting is outdoors, in “plein aire” fashion. Spending the day tucked besides a quiet jetty by the beach is my version of artist's heaven! My local area provides plenty of compelling scenery, so I usually don't have to go very far for inspiration.

For me, art is all about capturing a transient moment in time. For both the artist and the viewer, a painting provides a visual means to celebrate and preserve a unique moment.
