Florida based Jeff Lucas grew up in the United States and abroad. His fascination with art began at a very early age as he often created his own comic books characters. While he received some training in graphic arts in high school and college, Jeff is largely self-taught. He uses a wide variety of techniques to capture the color, texture and shape of the subject and is constantly experimenting. That said, he relies most on glazing layers to produce depth and dimensionality. As a naturalist, he is concerned about the deterioration of nature and the landscape. He says his goal is to preserve them on paper as best he can.
