Self Portrait

My name is Kim O'Malley & I have been painting for around 25yrs. I completed a Fine Arts Certificate at Seaforth College of TAFE in 1982 & have exhibited at De Havilland Gallery & Project Contemporary Artspace in Wollongong & at Cronulla Galleries, Sutherland Galleries & Manly Gallery. I have received awards for my work & my artwork is included in many private collections in Australia & overseas. I have also completed many commissions & two of my paintings have been reproduced on bookcovers.

I enjoy working in a variety of mediums, but pastel is a favourite for its rich, vibrant effects. My favourite subject is the ocean. I have always felt a deep connection & reverence for the sea and I'm fascinated by the unique & beautiful abstract patterns in nature, and particularly the ocean, that compose themselves so perfectly for just one moment...and then are gone forever. I feel very fortunate to live at Bulli on the south coast of NSW & to be inspired every day by our beautiful beaches & coastline. I also enjoy doing portraits & pet portraits.
