I WOULD NOT SURVIVE WITHOUT CREATING. I CANNOT MOVE THROUGH LIFE STAGNANT. UNCHANGING. WITHOUT THE NEW, THE UNWARRENTED, THE INSANE, THE RIDICULOUS, THE DEEPLY EMOTIONAL KINISTHETIC EXPERIENCE OF THE CREATION AND REVISION OF THE NOW AND THE UNREAL. I WOULD WHITHER. I KEEP MY MIND AFLOAT IN A CURRENT OF MOTIONLESS FACELESS LIFEFORMS WHO CAN ONLY WONDER WHAT IT IS TO BE AN ARTIST. TO FEEL THE ARTIST IN ALL INDIVIDUAL MOMENTS. I SPEAK TO THEM WITHOUT WORDS. I SEEK TO SHOW WITHOUT TELLING; I SEEK TO GLIMPSE INTO MYELSF AND REFLECT INTO THE NAKED EYE OF MY AUDIENCE.

It is my 5th year as a K-12 Art teacher (I teach 7 & 8th grade mainly...ALL 8TH GRADE ELECTIVES!) YES I LOVE THEM!!!

I am starting my MFA in the next year or two and looking forward to submerging back into the sudo real artworld of college, coffee, and painting at 3am. That life with no bedtime calls to me every day! Of course, a mortgage may interfere with some of that...

I teach art lessons on the side, mostly during the summer, have designed a few tatoos for friends, created business cards for myself (not the cheezy ones you find on a free site...), and try to draw and paint as often as possible. I have sold a few paintings and have had my work in a few small shows. The sketchbooks are full of great plans and ideas. I never have fewer than 5 paintings going at once! Unfortunately, that means that FINISHING happens less often! :) but it's not about that is it? not for me!

Being a teacher and artist is a struggle - like a dual personality! Contrary to popular belief, teaching IS a lot of work and takes a lot out of you by the end of the day. It also often requires you to have a second job. My other job is to teach students getting their GED. 2 nights per week-3hrs. Some are high school age and others are much older than me. Many of them are there to fulfill the terms of their probation... for whatever reason... In fact, I love it. It gives me a chance to work in other subject areas and I think I have finally learned how to properly use semicolons!
