I am a third generation artist. It began with my grandmother and has continued with my mother,who is still painting at 94 years old. The mentoring I have received instilled in me that art, as a means of self expression, is a wonderful gift. To that end, my mother gave me the ultimate gift: she taught me color! Over the years my art has become less of an avocation and more a profession. It's always a great adventure and as I learn and grow, what I see and understand is different.
MY PROCESS My art is intuitive, impressionist, and passionate. I start with a strong feeling about a subject that inspires me and I must paint it. After placing the elements(composition/ design), using my subject as a reference I let memory, feelings, and intuition take over. Using this process lets each brush and knife stroke dictate the next. Each painting has a story and I think of it as I paint. This puts me in the "zone" where I want to be as the painting takes on a life of its own.
