Growing up in Bath as a child but now lives in Carcassonne in France with Potsie her Basset Hound, from which she describes how she draws daily and is her inspiration for many of her illustrations. Jane was inspired as a child by her dad’s best friend who was a freelance designer and so in later years went onto study a foundation course at Bristol and then a Degree in Textile and surface pattern design. Jane’s Illustrations are a mixture of patterns and shapes, creative characters and bright colours that dart out of the page. She uses Gouache and pencil and uses fuel in the form of many cups of tea! Jane thrives on being creative and has always loved drawing and painting, especially animals and pattern. She is inspired by the work of Klimt, Henri Rousseau, William Scott and Matisse. When Jane is not illustrating she enjoys spending time with family, cooking for friends who love a good natter, shopping, reading and soaking up a bit of peace and quiet.
