A 3D model I recently did of the Master Sword, from Zelda: A Link to the Past.

I recently found some high quality scans of the artwork from the manual, and some official art, and got to thinking about the older design of the Master Sword.

I have an alt colored Ocarina of Time model that uses the same base color scheme (gold and red, I forgot about the green and the light blue shade on the blade) but I decided to try making a totally new mesh and texture.

I used this as reference, since I liked the colors:

I'm impressed with the end results, it looks almost (almost)spot on to the reference pic. :D

Since there's no "official" art for the sheath for it, I decided to design and make one from scratch. I think i did fairly decent job making it match the sword, came out looking kinda like the sheath from Twilight Princess. ^^;

In other words, i overdid it on the sheath's details.....

Yep, this is what happens when the retro geek in me collides with the 3d artist in me.
