Alannah and the Gargoyle

Alannah and the Gargoyle - an illustration of one of the girls in an upcoming book I'm illustrating. Illustrating a scene from the story, Alannah is speaking to a stone gargoyle friend who lives in the forgotten cathedral of which she is a caretaker. She's holding a bucket, preparing to wipe down the front steps of the old building. My recent trip to Paris helped inspire the general feel for this painting (as well as the landscape & architecture). Alannah herself has stone wings and appears in shades of grey. My own original acrylic painting. ©Jasmine Becket-Griffith - prints are available at http://www.strangeling.com and http://zazzle.com/strangeling*
