Sugar Skull - Image 4

Here are some sugar skulls that Jeremy (my boyfriend) and I decorated for El Dia de Los Muertos! Jeremy had to give a presentation in his Spanish class, so he made sugar skulls! It was a good way to do something food based that integrated both Mexico and our love of skulls!! He bought some plastic molds online, and then whipped up a meringue powder and sugar concoction. He put them in the molds where they sat until they were hard. From there, he colored some frosting, and we decorated them. He had more small skulls, but they became casualties in his Spanish class. They ended up going home with a few of his classmates:) I decorated the more garish of the skulls -- the one with the heart eyes, and the pink one with the curly smile. Jeremy did a much better job! LOL I give him full credit for creating such a fun project! Surprisingly, this is the first time I've ever decorated a sugar skull:) This one was decorated by me:)
