Concept art for my story. This gorgeous little thang is called a "Glaudiac". For the planet it comes from, it is a very small predator about 4 foot in length and width (with it's legs splayed out). The Glaudiacs now prey on humans now that man kind has started to settle. These things are not hard to kill but they travel in hordes of thousands ( much like Wrasps) most of the small predators on Zalerek hunt in massive swarms/ hordes. Glaudiacs spend most of their time underground, they hunt at night as UV rays from the suns burn them. As soon as both suns are hidden on the other side of Zalerek they come out of hiding, they don't hang around. They will eat any animal they come across but human is preferred. The mouth is at the back, when they go to bite and eat the mouth swings up and over the rest of their body. Waste products come back out the mouth as drool and vomit. Fine strings of self fertilised eggs are injected into a corpse through the flesh like spines at the top of its body. The grubs will only eat dead meat and take a week to form into Glaudiacs. Thankfully Zalerek only has Glaudiacs on three continents and they're not too common. They stay away from built up areas because of the lights Man has up in defence.
