So far Nicaragua remains the only state beside Russia to officially recognize the independence of Georgia's breakaway territories. Apparently, President Ortega made this decision to please Kremlin and to spite President Bush, without any real concern neither for Abkhazia, nor South Ossetia. In exchange for so badly needed recognition, Russia's leadership keeps feeding its "friends" with empty promises.
