The World In Our Hands

World Within Our Hands an origonal 8 foot long painting designed to depict the water cycle and the importance of looking after our water ways, streams, rivers, lakes and oceans please e-mail us in regards to print sizes. At the top of the painting are two young children a girl and a boy. The young boy is pouring water from a jug he is holding in his right hand. From the jug the water starts its journey from storm clouds, into rain and then onto mountain streams. From the stream it travels on into a fresh water lake. At this point in the painting I have introduced wild life from many different continents some bathing in the water, some drinking the water, but all relying on unpolluted water to survive. The water then continues its journey over waterfalls and on into the ocean, where the surface of the water is broken by a Humpback Whale. To the left of the Whale is a painted ice-cap onto which there are placed animals from the Arctic region and to the right there are Penguins from the Antarctic, representing the North Pole and the South Pole. Following the water flow down into the Oceans there are many painted different sea creatures including Fish, Sharks, Dolphins, Turtles etc. The journey continues on into the depths of the Abyss where to spite the fact that no light can penetrate its depths and the pressure is so great " life still exists ". The finish is with the water swirling back into the jug where it first started its journey.
