I was asked to draw this display for one of my clients. The image depicts the way a lot of individuals in my culture view their lively hood. I call this piece mental slaves to say that if we as black people keep this image in our minds as though other people have power over us then we will continue to create our own shackles and chains. The struggle for equality has been fought for long and hard by many. It is a shame and a hard slap in the face to those who died for a cause when people don't realize their limitless potential.
