Helmut Licht Ilsa - one of the greatest lessons I learned at MICA was the following: We were told to draw (pencil sketch) a nude model for about 1/2 hour. When the 1/2 hour was over we were told to erase 10 lines without 'ruining' the sketch. Then we had to erase 10 more. Then 10 more, etc. until there were barely enough lines left to enable the viewer to see the nude figure. When all was said and done the teacher said: Ladies and gentlemen, a master would have accomplish this at the outset, without drawing all the 'unnecessary' lines first. You depict this lesson perfectly :) Great! | |
