Old Kingdom The King

When we are children we all want to be so many things. I wanted to be a Ranger exploring the strange wild outbacks of my fathers kingdom. But there are seldom times that one can actually be what one wants to be. So many set backs road blocks. Being born to to a poor peasant family as many draw backs, and most never get by them. Its not impossible. Many a peasant child has risen to great wealth and fame. Would I have been born to such. I was born of noble blood, heir to the throne of the old kingdom. My child hood dreams were just that. My life was set out for me at birth. The first attempt on my life took place on my eighth birthday. There have been many more sense. I did not murder my father as he had done his, and his had done his. It was done for me by my mother. Moving me to the throne on my twelve birthday. On my fourteenth I had My mother executed for the murder of my father. Being a King means trusting no one, the Queen, your generals your knights your brother, not even your own sons, and daughters. My marriage to my wife was not one of love but one of need. The witch granted me immortality perpetual youth, to be my wife. They call me The Mad King? No I am insane. I would kill my wife, but the spell she granted me came with another price, should either of us be killed, the other would die just as surely. I thought of abdicating my throne, to one of the powerful Barron's, but then that would not save me, for as long as I was alive or my children I would be a threat to whoever was king, and they would continue to try and slay me. Better a Mad King than a dead one. Being King dose have its benefits. By the Gods how I would rather have been born a peasant. Then I could have been that Ranger I always dreamed of being.

What plight, this king's. Cool imaginative creativity, Sir Ralph! The madness, here is more than likely the result of too much inter blood-line conception.
