ART for a McGraw-Hill school
textbook. I'm
throwing this in since i like doing kid's
books
for the amount of money on a book
advance
you can get. It can be steady work.
I ponder
to myself if I will get any work from
this
ARTWANTED site. If any art
directors (art
buyers) will stumble on to my work
among
the avalanche of quite a few
weekend artists
with day jobs and students on this
site. I try
to put my work on every
conceivable art site
so my name will pop up on google.
It is tough
out there in the Illustration
profession. Stock
art is eroding commissions and even
India art
studio sweatshops are cutting into
my market
for a piece of the pie. What I
despise more
than anything is clients asking to see
a sketch
without compensation before they
hire you.
As if you were a novice on an
audition. I want
to rip their spleen out. Or at least
give them
an harangue on their bewilderment
that this
is not a hobby but a livelihood.
